recycled & upcycled.
Upcycling is when an item is redesigned, modified or adapted to a new and better purpose, usually with better quality than the original. With thoughtful design, the new item has an artistic aesthetic, often rivaling or surpassing items found in the most expensive galleries. Upcycling makes a positive impact on the environment
Products are sourced from providers who commit to supporting non-profit groups through charitable donations, community partnerships, and low interest loans to marginalized, threatened, and minority populations throughout the world. Doing so breaks the cycle of poverty and ensures all people are treated with dignity and respect, with the opportunity for education, enterprise and the ability to live a rich and meaningful life.
We believe in supporting the artisan spirit at Market Earth through local artists, fair trade partners and recyclers from around the world. We strive to find unique products that share our visions of supporting a global marketplace with exceptional standards of quality and creativity. All our goods represent our philosophy of social awareness and we are proud to be a purveyor of change in the way we treat this beautiful earth and all the people, everywhere, who live on it.

why do we do this?
As the founder of Market Earth, Karen combined her desire to help improve the lives of others with the opportunity she felt existed to create a place people could shop for quality products, that could also make a difference. Over the years, volunteer efforts with several organizations showed her that most people want to be a part of a better world but not everyone knew how to start or where to go. Ready for a change herself, she left the only job she’d ever known and jumped off the corporate cliff embarking on the journey that is now Market Earth. Ask her and she’ll say she’s a work in progress, excited for what’s still to come and ever grateful for everyone supporting her along the way. When not working on Market Earth you might find her with her dog. If you do see her, please give her directions because she’s probably lost.
